Dozy vandals

Cops are hunting a gang of illiterate vandals who sprayed graffiti on a church hall in Co Derry.

The dopey gang caused hundreds of pounds worth of damage at Fincairn Parish Hall, near Feeny, after they spray painted the hall in three foot high red letters just days after it was given a costly make over.

The popular hall, which is used by hundreds of parishioners each week, was targeted in a similar attack just a few weeks ago.

But while the gormless goons behind the graffiti attack thought they were being clever, they managed to make a mess of their art work by misspelling their message.

Instead of writing ‘Oh no, not again’, the vandals wrote ‘o no, not agan’.

The incident came just days before thieves broke into a nearby church and stole cash from a charity box.

The theft was detected at Saint Joseph’s, Fincairn, at the end of last week.

It is understood the thieves smashed their way into a candle cash box before making off with the contents.

It is not known if the two incidents are linked.

A PSNI spokeswoman confirmed they are investigating the two incidents.

Anyone with information is asked to contact 08456008000.
