Clady

Clady & District Angling Club

River levels have risen recently with a small flood around the end of June. Congratulations to G. Ferris on catching two large bann trout.

These trout grow in the river bann but enter the Clady river to spawn later in the season, catching one of these fish provides great sport. Our club competitions have been continuing.  The J. Graham Memeorial cup was a closely fought battle with a 1oz winning margin.  Winner  J. Nelson - 2 trout for 1lb 2oz , runner up N. Catherwood - 1 trout for 1lb 1oz.  The Greenough Bar Cup was won by J. Brownlow with a great catch of  5 trout for 4lb 11oz and runner up N. Catherwood with 3 trout for 1lb 15oz.  Our next competition the G.A. Hogg Cup on Sat 26th is fly fishing only.  Club members please notethis is an evening competition with fishing from 6pm - 10pm.

Finally for any non club member or visting anglers wishing to fish the river, day tickets are available from Maura’s shop, Main Street Portglenone - a DCAL game permit must also be carried while fishing.
