Vandals who broke into a south Derry primary school have been condemned.

Windows were smashed and doors broken during a break in at Holy Family Primary School last week.

It is understood two youths aged between 14 and 17 years were caught on camera during the rampage which took place around 5pm on Sunday, January 17.

Shocked Holy Family principal Peter Donnelly says the damage was discovered when staff arrived to open the school last Monday.

During the incident serious damage was caused to a number of school projects causing distress to a number of children and staff.

Mr Donnelly said he was saddened by the wrecking spree at the popular primary school.

He added: ā€œI’m Utterly disgusted at such reckless vandalism which will cost hundreds of pounds to fix. This is unacceptable behaviour and I hope that the police will be able to apprehend the culprits.ā€
