Worried homeowners in Magherafelt have vowed to fight plans to build a major food store in the south Derry town.
Magherafelt based Conway Group has revealed plans to construct a £17 million store on a 13 acre site at the Moneymore Road in Magherafelt.
The firm claims up to 200 jobs could be created during construction and after the store’s completion if it gets the nod from planners.
Last night dozens of residents who live close to the site of the proposed development vowed to fight the controversial plans.
People living in Morgan’s Close and the Sherbourne district say their peace will be shattered if the development, which includes up to 400 car parking spaces, goes ahead.
